Candace McWhirter, MAcOM, LAc

Candace is dedicated to helping people reach optimal functioning, and not just remedying dysfunction. She has studied Biomedical Acupuncture extensively and specializes in Sports Acupuncture, Injury & Post Surgery Recovery, and Stress Management. She skillfully combines many different techniques, effectively helping hundreds of people every year. Her patients feel at ease and cared for and count on her vast knowledge and experience.


Candace received her Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She is nationally board certified by NCCAOM and is licensed to practice in the State of Oregon. Candace also holds a B.S. in Health Sciences, with minors in Biology and Cultural Anthropology from Linfield College. With over 22 years’ experience, she practiced massage therapy from 1993-2013, specializing in Sports Massage, Injury & Post Surgery Recovery, and Stress Management and has been practicing acupuncture for over 7 years now, with the same focus.


With a strong desire to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western approaches to health and wellness and work with medical doctors and other health care professionals, Candace is dedicated to providing the best possible care for her patients. “There is a reason it’s called ‘complimentary medicine’, because it works so well with Western methods.”

 

While her specialty is Sports & Injury Management, with over 20 years of experience, she treats a wide variety of internal and musculoskeletal disorders, with a focus on:

  3. -Chronic pain (neck, back, shoulder, hip, etc.)

  4. -Carpal tunnel syndrome

  5. -Headaches (tension, migraine)

  6. -Immune system support

  7. -Stress-related symptoms like insomnia, anxiety & depression



Fun Facts~

Candace is very passionate about nutrition, eating well, and gardening. She has an edible yard where she grows much of her own produce. She is an avid cyclist and often commutes to the office by bicycle.
